After a somewhat disrupted Nine Muses Festival 2020, we are able to reflect on the power of finding creativity and innovation in challenging times, and the necessity of togetherness and support. Things that all of the Nine Muses Festival team hold close to their hearts.
On March 6th we (The Nine Muses Festival project team and all sponsors and partners) decided that we didn't want our event to increase the risk of COVID-19 spread amongst our fantastic audience, but we were adamant that we wouldn't loose the value that our tremendous speakers could give, and so we decided to host a live-stream event. We really needed to lean on these ideas of innovation and togetherness to make it happen - and we thank each and every one of you who made it possible, including so many of you, our audience who were thankful and supportive of the decision.
Unfortunately, some of our program was not possible digitally (or not within such a short time to redesign the event), but we were still able to hold: On The Sofa With...Katarina Berg, Rebecca Broni and Oscar Höglund; a fireside chat with Daniel Ek; Women's Showcase, hosted by The Moth's Kate Teller and featuring Anna Nordlander, Linda Sundblad, Nanna Olasdotter Hallberg and Yukimi Nagano; a podcast masterclass with Per Emanuelsson; and a fireside chat with Anna Serner.
The Nine Muses Festival host Gemma Cairney was not able to be with us in person, so the event was instead hosted by Project Manager Sally Whatley, whilst Gemma took to the digital airwaves to discuss content in real time in a Nine Muses Festival Twitter takeover.
